Situated between 1° and 6°N, Malaysia has a classic equatorial climate characterized by high temperatures and significant rainfall throughout the year. At sea level, temperatures typically range from 21°C to 32°C, while at higher elevations, it is cooler, with temperatures ranging from 15°C to 25°C. Annual rainfall varies between 2,000mm and 2,500mm.

The east coast experiences a heavier wet season and is best avoided during the rainy period from November to February. Many beach resorts close during these months and typically reopen in March.

As the earth’s climate has changed, the northeast monsoon that affects Redang Island has been delayed, starting only in December. Therefore, September and October are not considered monsoon months, making them a good time to visit Redang.
Since the weather in Malaysia is typically warm, we advise you to bring light clothing, swim wear, sandals, caps or hats, sunscreen lotion which is not harmful to corals
Bahasa Malaysia, English, Mandarin, Tamil
Wi-Fi is only available in the lobby area. Due to the lack of modern telecommunications infrastructure, the Wi-Fi can be unstable and slow throughout Redang Island. We strongly advise guests to purchase a local telco starter SIM pack available at the resort reception if you seek reliable internet access.
Additionally, we have an internet room in the resort lobby area, with charges of RM10.00 per hour or RM5.00 for half an hour.
Here are three simple rules you should always remember and follow whenever you are in Redang or any other protected marine parks in Malaysia:

Keep Beaches Clean: Always throw rubbish into designated bins, and never litter on the beach or in the sea. If you come across any litter, please help by picking it up.

Do Not Damage Corals: Avoid contact with corals. Do not touch, kick, kneel, stand, or step on corals, as this can cause significant damage. Snorkelers should stay clear of corals in shallow waters to prevent accidental contact.

Don't Collect Marine Life: Refrain from collecting any marine life, whether dead or alive, including seashells, corals, crustaceans, and fish. All marine life plays a vital role in sustaining the health of the coral reef ecosystem. Everything is interconnected and contributes to the ecosystem’s balance. Even dead coral, rubble, and empty seashells provide protection and homes for various sea creatures. Avoid catching fish or other marine life, even if you plan to release them later.
Yes, Redang Island is home to long-tailed macaque monkeys. While they may appear friendly, it’s important to note that these monkeys can be aggressive. They are often seen in troops near the edges of the forests surrounding the resorts and along the trails.

Visitors staying in garden view rooms near the forest should be cautious and ensure that windows and balcony doors are closed when they leave their rooms, especially if food is inside.

Do not feed or taunt these monkeys. Feeding them can encourage boldness, leading them to approach resorts and humans in expectation of food. This behavior can create problems, as they may become a nuisance, harassing people or stealing personal belongings.

Yes, the More More Tea Inn gift shop offers a variety of souvenir items, handicraft, soft toys, apparel, accessories, toiletries, snacks and beverages. It is now one of the most popular attractions and a photography spot, particularly among visitors who have seen the movie. More More Tea Inn was initially designed as a temporary set for the Hong Kong Movie “Summer Holiday” in 1999. The set was unable to withstand the harsh island weather and hence deteriorated rapidly. In 2003, Laguna Redang Island Resort restored the building to its former glory with more robust construction methods and materials.

We provide drinking water in the rooms for our guests.

If you need more, you can purchase them at our restaurants and bars or the More More Tea Inn gift shop.
